He usually comes out to look at a job and quote it himself, and the people who then turn up are his own crew, with the trucks and wood chippers you can see in the photographs on this site. We look at the height, the access, and what is underneath - the house, the fence, the neighbour's garden, any lines - and you get one price for the whole job.

The work, then the clean-up
Cut, chipped, loaded and gone, with the drive and lawn swept or blown. If you would like the woodchip left as mulch or a trunk cut into rounds, say so when we quote.

Really impressive business to deal with. Prompt response to enquiry and Gary came around to quote within a couple of days. Really good price to trim some tall, mature hedges and clean out old dead smaller trees. Gary did a great job of trimming and removing, included a few extra tidy ups while he was at it and left the place nice and tidy. Highly recommended.

Questions We Get Asked
How much does it cost to remove a tree in Auckland?
It depends on the tree and the site far more than on the tree alone: how tall it is, what it would land on, whether it has to come down in small sections, how the trucks and chipper get to it, and whether you want the stump ground out as well. That is why we look before we price. Quotes are free, and the price covers the clean-up.
Do I need council permission to remove or prune a tree?
Often not. Auckland Council says no class or species of tree has automatic protection, so most garden trees can be pruned or removed without a resource consent. Some trees are protected, though - for example a notable tree, a tree in a Significant Ecological Area, trees close to steep coastal cliffs, the coast or a stream bank, or a tree protected by a condition on an earlier consent or on your title. Council's GeoMaps viewer shows notable trees and ecological areas for your address. Trees on a council berm or reserve belong to the council. If you are unsure, ask when we quote: we can help with any permits or permissions the job needs.
Can you take down a tree next to the house or power lines?
Yes. A tree beside a house, pool, fence or garage comes down in sections that are cut and lowered where they will do no harm, rather than being dropped whole. Where branches are near power lines the lines company may need to be involved before any work starts, so mention the lines when you get in touch.
Do you take everything away afterwards?
Yes. Branches go through our chippers on site and the wood is loaded onto the trucks, and the area is cleaned up before we leave. If you want the woodchip left for your garden or the trunk cut into firewood rounds, tell us at the quote and we will leave it.
Can you grind out the stump at the same time?
Yes, and it is usually best done on the same visit. We grind stumps and roots below ground level so the area can be turfed, paved or replanted - see stump grinding.
Which parts of Auckland do you cover?
Auckland wide. A lot of our work is on the Hibiscus Coast and the North Shore, and we are regularly in Rodney and central Auckland as well - see the area list above.

Yes. We do tree work for both residential and commercial properties, and landscaping businesses use us as their contractor for the bigger tree jobs.

We carry public liability insurance and run comprehensive health and safety systems. We work Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 7am to 2pm.
