Tree Services Across the Shore
The North Shore is one of the parts of Auckland we work in most, from Browns Bay and Torbay to Glenfield and Takapuna. Established Shore sections tend to have mature trees that have had decades to grow into the gutters, over the fences and across the neighbour's lawn.
Big trees, small sections
Infill and subdivision mean plenty of new houses now sit under old trees. A gum or pine that once stood in the middle of a quarter acre is now metres from two roofs and a shared driveway, which means it comes down in sections that are lowered, not dropped - see tree removal - or is kept and made to fit with a canopy reduction or a crown lift.
Cliff tops, gullies and banks
The bays have cliff-top sections and bush gullies behind plenty of streets, and banks that become overgrown quickly. We take down trees on steep, awkward banks and keep overgrown slopes under control with regular visits. Trees on or near steep coastal cliffs, or near streams, can be protected under Auckland Council rules, so these are worth checking on the council's GeoMaps viewer before any removal.
Shared drives and neighbours
Rear sections, right-of-ways and shared drives mean the trucks and chipper are often parked where the neighbours need to get past. We keep access clear while we work and clean the drive before we go.
Palms and big garden trees
Plenty of Shore gardens have a tall Washingtonia or fan palm that went in as a small plant and is now well above the roof, dropping fronds on the gutters. Where a palm is hard against the house or the lines, the trunk comes out in sections - see palm tree removal. When the tree or palm is gone, the stump can be ground out so the lawn or garden goes back to normal.
Hedges
Boundary hedges are everywhere on the Shore, and many of them have been let go past what a household hedge trimmer can reach. We trim them level and straight, bring overgrown ones back, and can keep them on a regular schedule - see hedge trimming.
