Tree Services in the West
The west has a lot of sloping sections that back onto bush, reserves and streams, and a lot of very tall trees - pines, gums and wattles that have grown up well above the houses around them. That makes for tree work where the planning matters as much as the cutting.
Tall trees on slopes
A pine or gum at the bottom of a steep section cannot usually be dropped downhill into the bush, and cannot be dropped uphill onto the house. It comes down in sections, lowered or placed where they can be reached, then cut up and carried or winched to the chipper - see tree removal. Photographs of that kind of job are on this page.
Bush edges, streams and protected areas
Council rules come into it on a lot of western sections, because many of them border bush and streams. Auckland Council can control work on trees and vegetation in Significant Ecological Areas and within 20 metres of stream and river banks, and notable trees are protected wherever they are. Before any clearing or removal near bush or water, check your address on the council's GeoMaps viewer, or ask us at the quote and we will help with any permits or permissions the job needs.
Overgrown sections and banks
Wattle, privet, self-sown pines and scrub take over a back section fast. We cut and chip it out and grind the stumps so the ground can be used - see site clearance - and keep overgrown banks under control with regular visits.
Hedges and garden trees
On the flatter suburban streets it is hedges, fruit trees and the trees that have got too big for the section: hedge trimming, pruning and stump grinding.
